Keep Fit for the Over 50's

The aim of this course is to increase your stamina, strength and suppleness. Stamina will help you to keep going without getting tired quickly. Strength is needed in everyday activities around the home. With muscle strength and suppleness you will be less at risk of sprains and strains and will stay more active as you get older.

 

Needlework with Dilys Morgan

Different kinds of embroidery are presented as appropriate. A project is chosen by the individual and the necessary skills are taught in order to complete the project. The course is appropriate to all levels from beginners.

Come Dancing! With Gill Knight

The aim of the class is to give a basic knowledge of different dance rhythms and steps in both Ballroom and Latin American dance, progressing to variations and medal tests if desired. Dances include the Waltz, Quickstep, Cha-Cha-Cha, Jive, Slow Foxtrot, Tango, Rumba, Samba, Salsa and Paso Doble. The instructor is a Fellow of the UKA corporate member of the British Dance Council.

Play The Guitar With Mike Eades

The aim of the Beginners course is to learn to play in an easy-to-follow group workshop and to increase confidence and motivation through the learning and playing of simple and enjoyable pieces of music. No previous musical knowledge is necessary, just the willingness to learn to play the guitar.

The aim of the Intermediate group course is to build on previous knowledge and experience gained in guitar playing and further increase confidence and motivation through the learning and playing of more demanding chord and melodic structures. Some previous musical knowledge is desirable.

The aim of the Advanced group course is to further expand and explore more advanced guitar techniques covering a much wider range of material, also including guitar maintenance, history and self-composition. Previous musical knowledge is desirable.

Looking at Landscape with
Caroline Juler

This 10-week course is designed to introduce aspects of European landscape painting to Non-specialists. During the course you will look at ways in which painters developed their technical skills together with the aesthetic, economic and political background which motivated them. There will be at least one trip to a gallery, such as the National Gallery in Cardiff and possibly a studio. Each session will have a presentation followed by group discussion.
